So yesterday jamesnaylor.com (the website and email) was down – and probably had been all weekend, so nothing came in, nothing went out, and this page wasn’t updated.

Just to let you know…

gamblers anonymous, anyone?

So my first night’s gambling in the casino went smoothly – dressed up all ‘smooth’, and spending my time on the blackjack table, my 25 dollars (about 10 pounds) lasted for ages and ages, and I stopped after I lost all of the winnings I had made. So, basically, all that entertainment was for free!

All I have to do now is study the ‘tactics’ pages of the various websites, then I will surely be a winner…

This story, however, pales into insignificance next to George’s tale – when she asked me what to do on the roulette table, I just replied to put her chips on her ‘favourite number’. So she changes twenty dollars into 10 chips, puts one chip on number 14 and looks bewildered when, on the first spin, the little white ball lands on number 14.

The easiest seventy dollars that she ever made, I reckon.

This Saturday, George and I travel to Mt. Buller to do a spot of skiing. I will hopefully have some amusing / pretty photos to put up here soon.

Hold on. Skiing. In Australia? Doesn’t it have to be cold?

Yes, I am (skiing). Yes, it does (have to be cold). And yes, it is (or at least, will be).

Actually, the last time that I went skiing was when I was about 14, on the dry slopes of the Sheffield Ski Village. I think that a refresher lesson may be needed…
