OK – maybe not. But must not be so glum. Spoke with George yesterday on the phone – it seems like an eternity since she left on Sunday (it had been three days…) – and it was great to hear her voice. Our conversation was … well … normal (as normal as it could be), but nice.

What am I trying to say?

I don’t know – just that we are keeping in touch. She is alive. I am alive. There could be worse things in the world. Like most fairy tales, I am sure that there will be a happy ending…

(and, just while thinking about George-related stuff – an interesting news article brought her to mind…)

Had the World Economic Forum in town for the past couple of days, with the attached S11 protesters. All very exciting, but as I had to go home past the Crown Casino, my trams have been stopped for the past three days, meaning I had to walk some of the way.

Boo hoo.

Getting into the Olympic spirit, the football (soccer) begain in Melbourne yesterday, with the Olyroos (that would be the Australian mens Olympic football team, then) played gallantly agains the Italians, but lost 1-0. Might be making a trip up to Sydney soon, to try and squeeze in some of the games…
