But, apart from that little emotional episode, I had a lovely weekend up in Chesterfield with George. I survived my first night out ‘in town’, and had a glorious victory at ten-pin bowling the next day. We got to see The Gift, which was really enjoyable (and made my physically jump about five times), and I got to have lunch with Mat, Neil and Jonathan, which was a real blast to the past – proving that, no matter how long we go without getting together, we always (and very quickly) slip back into enjoyable old habits!

The trip back, however was another matter – and, thanks to Midland Mainline and Connex conspiring to add an extra hour onto my journey, I have been thoroughly knackered at work today. I wonder if I can email complaints to them…?
