a musical interlude
This past few days has been most enjoyable, and extremely musical. The long bank holiday weekend started with George leaving for Dublin on Friday for another overseas hen weekend (!), leaving me with a weekend ‘alone’. Saturday was spent in the company of Jonathan and Sarah, who were down in London for the weekend. The weather was too good to spend inside, and so lunch was had by the river in Richmond – all very pleasant, as I am sure you can imagine!
It’s always nice to catch up when the sun is beating down on your back…
Later on that day, Gemma wanted to go into town on the scooter, which we did – unfortunately the roads had already started to be closed down in preparation for the jubilee celebrations. I did, finally, get to do a bit of shopping on the Kings Road though, darlings!
Sunday was a day of rest, and football. England vs. Sweden, first game of the World Cup, tv in the patio, fried breakfast and Sunday newspapers outside in the continuing sunshine. The game was drawn, the atmosphere was great – I even managed to get a bit of a tan!
