annular, not annual (eclipse, that is)

Today was the annular solar eclipse, but as usual I forgot to look, and by the time I did it was all over. I did manage to burn my retinas though by stupidly looking at the sun. It seems like I never remembered what my mum told me…

But, reading about the eclipse at the BBC (BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | Moon’s shadow moves across Earth), I couldn’t help but reading the word annular as if I was George Bush trying to say the word annual. No? Must be me, then!
