Au revoir, La Porchetta
so rude, matron…
The comment below about the Guinness Book of Records has certainly flushed out those of you with dirty minds (yep, you Lynne!). Just for the record, the ‘something’ was ‘not annoying George with one of my amusing comments’, and I couldn’t tell you what it was because by telling you all, I would annoy George. So now she will be annoyed. Why do I tell you this stuff…
it’s worse than the US Postal Service
email has gone down again. I can read ‘em, but not reply to them very easily. At least, that’s my excuse.
the rest of that weekend?
It’s taken me so long to write about that weekend that I have bored even myself. It was good to see Neil off on his way back home with a trip to his favourite restaurant (La Porchetta) and a big night out at Twister in St. Kilda for all the cheesy ‘toons. Neil seemed to have had more fun than most, however… (photos to come?)
Then it was just me and George – can we survive the next two and a half months? Tell you something – I don’t think that my wallet can!
One good thing was that she finally convinced me to buy a proper winter jacket that doesn’t have the name of my University plastered all over the back. Now I can travel on public transport warmly, and not feel all self-conscious. Sometimes I am so vain. Only problem is that it is ‘camel’ coloured, and I can picture some dodgy third division football manager (or maybe even John Motson) wearing it, and am starting to feel this compulsion to say things like ‘over the moon’ and ‘sick as a parrot’. Apart from that, it’s lovely and snuggly warm.
And I had my hair cut really short again. Probably a bit ‘too’ short, but it will always grow back, eh?
Engerrland, Engerrland, Engerrlaaand
So we finally beat Germany. Never thought it would happen in my lifetime. Wish I could have been there to celebrate. To the drunken fools (especially if we get kicked out) – good on ya.
