Abu Dhabi '11

1 minute read

At the invitation of our good friend (Miss) Louisa, George and I have just returned from an action-packed week in Abu Dhabi! Our first holiday to the middle-east, we weren’t sure what to expect, but our host introduced us to the strange world of the oil-rich Emirates.

We visited the amazing Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi, and had a day in Dubai where we went up the world tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, followed by a beach party where we danced to Norman Jay, The Script and Groove Armada.

We also managed to fit in a little relaxation time with a couple of days by the pool, reading books (or Kindles, at any rate) and enjoying the weather. Apparently 31 degrees is a bit chilly for the locals, but for us it made a nice change from the late-autumnal chilly November.
